For over half a century Oxbridge alumni in Malaysia and their
friends have been gathering together in the evening for dinner as
their respective alma mater's rowing teams sweat it out on the Thames.
It is time once again for one of the social events in the Kuala
Lumpur Diary. The hightlight is the unique opportunity to enjoy
a dazzling battle of wits as the after dinner speakers take verbal
shots at their counterpart's University while ostensibly proposing
an elegant toast to the same.
In the new millennium, for the first time ever, the speakers will
be Dons who are coming down from Oxford and Cambridge to attend
this special event. Apart from being great raconteurs, one is a
Jesuit priest and the other a physicist.
