AN INVITATION FROM ASLI….
The Asian Strategy
& Leadership Institute (ASLI), with the support
of the Oxford & Cambridge Society of Malaysia,
will be organising a high-powered conference entitled "The
Global Business Revolution & the Awakening of China's
Big Business - Competitive Imperatives & Strategic Implications
for Malaysia" on 22-23 September at Sunway
Lagoon Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The Deputy
Finance Minister II, YB Dato' Dr Ng Yen Yen, will officiate
the Opening of the Conference and deliver a special Keynote
Address.
This Conference will specifically
examine the global business revolution, the rise of China's
big business and implications for Malaysia in several critical
industries. This Conference plays a fundamentally crucial
role in equipping corporate Malaysia with the necessary
insight on industry-specific change and developments, how
the global major players in respective industries are strategising,
how China's national champions are structured and run, and
how Malaysia can counter-strategise given the global scenario
and China's awakening.
This Conference will specially
feature Professor Peter Nolan from the Judge
Institute of Management, University of Cambridge. Professor
Nolan, who is a distinguished and much sought-after authority
on global big business, developing economies and China's
industries, will be sharing the findings of his years of
meticulous research into the various critical industries
where a swathe of change and revolution has seen the emergence
of corporate behemoths and the rise of China's big business
and brought new implications on developing countries like
Malaysia. His profile can be found in the conference write
up attached.
In conjunction with this
special appearance of Professor Nolan, ASLI is
pleased to extend a very special discounted rate of RM790.00
per delegate to members of the Oxford & Cambridge
Society of Malaysia, as the supporting organisation,
to attend the Conference, where the normal rate is RM1050.00.
Please indicate in the registration form attached that you
are a member of the Society in order to qualify for this
special rate. Members may, of course, sign up on the account
of their companies but will still have to indicate that
they are members of the Oxford & Cambridge Society
of Malaysia.
The full conference programme is attached.
We look forward to seeing the Oxford &
Cambridge alumni attending this event with a distinguished
Cambridge don.
